TEHRAN – Iranian director Mehrdad Oskui’s acclaimed documentary “Starless Dreams” won the Teen Dox Award for the best film at ZagrebDox 2017, an international documentary film festival held in Zagreb, Croatia from February 26 to March 5.

“Starless Dreams” shows the lives of seven young teenage girls sharing temporary quarters at a rehabilitation and detention center on the outskirts of Tehran.

“The Dazzling Light of Sunset”, a joint production of Georgia and Germany by Salome Jashi, won the best film award in the official section. 

“21xNew York” by Piotr Stasik and ”Communion” by Anna Zamecka, both from Poland, received special mentions in this section.
